SNS-032 is being evaluated in one Phase 1 study for patients with either chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or multiple myeloma (MM) who have received prior treatment. To be eligible for this study, potential participants need to be 18 years or older.
CLL is a slow-growing type of leukemia (blood cancer) in which too many lymphoblasts (immature white blood cells) are found in the blood and bone marrow. It is estimated that over 15,000 people will be diagnosed with CLL in the United States in 2007.
Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of plasma cells, which are an important component of the immune system. Normal plasma cells, which develop from B-lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell) are typically found in the bone marrow. It is estimated that nearly 20,000 people will be diagnosed with MM in the United States in 2007.
The unique identifier for this study on ClinicalTrials.gov is SPO-0009. This study is enrolling in the dose-escalation portion of the study in centers across the United States.
